Harbor Light Foundation provides therapeutic and adaptive programs for people with a wide range of special needs.  Trained staff provide nurturing care that assist each student in having fun-filled experiences, while encouraging the development of their social skills, self-confidence, and independence.

 

We specialize in serving individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, including Asperger’s and PDD-NOS.  Our programs are specifically designed to maximize learning opportunities through our integrated team approach.  We are enthusiastic about providing the highest level of care by our certified educational professionals.

 

At Harbor Light Summer Adventures, we realize the importance of developing the individual abilities all campers possess.  We offer specially designed programs to meet the needs of a wide variety of special needs and neuro-typical children.  These programs contain specific approaches that address key social, emotional, and environmental issues for each group.  Each special needs camper is paired with 3-5 neuro-typical campers within their age range over the course of a session or the summer.

 

These programs allow campers the opportunity to interact with their peers in a positive manner with the guidance of a trained staff member.  We believe that these groups provide the opportunity for positive social and emotional exchanges as well as the opportunity to build relationships that can extend beyond camp.

 

Harbor Light successfully develops unique programs that cater to individual needs and cultivates personal growth.  Our comprehensive programs emphasize the development of social skills, communication skills, functional academics, and independent living.
